Gabriela Knutson is an American-born Czech tennis player, who has won 3 ITF titles. She has a career high WTA singles ranking of No 227 achieved on June 26, 2023.
Gabriela Andrea Knutson was born on April 21, 1997, in Fair Oaks, United States. She is the daughter of an American father and Czech mother. At the age of 12 she moved from California to Dvur Kralove nad Labem in the Czech Republic; her family resided in an apartment that adjoined the local tennis club. As a junior, Gabriela Knutson won only one singles title on the ITF Junior Circuit was the 2014 Safina Cup, a Grade 4 event.
Gabriela Knutson played college tennis for the Syracuse University Orange women’s tennis team from 2015 to 2019. She reached a highest rank of No 4 in the college rankings and participated in the singles draw of the NCAA Division I Championships in both 2018 and 2019. In 2018, Gabriela Knutson was named a singles All-American, the first Syracuse player to do so since 1995.
From 2019, Gabriela Knutson attended Durham University on a postgraduate scholarship, representing the university in BUCS tennis. She stayed on at Durham following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic to undertake a second postgraduate degree, migrating from Hatfield to Ustinov College. In 2022, she was named the Team Durham Sportswoman of the Year.
Gabriela Knutson started her professional tennis career in 2022. She reached the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Bath (UK), $25,000 W25 Loughborough (UK), and $25,000 W25 Sozopol (Bulgaria).
In 2023, Gabriela Knutson reached her first ITF final at the $60,000 W60 ROME, GA (USA), before winning her first title at the $25,000 W25 Fredericton (Canada). During the season, she won two more ITF titles at the $25,000 W25 Monzon (Spain) and $25,000 W25 Guimaraes (Portugal), but also was the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Monastir (Tunisia).
