Rebecca Sramkova is a Slovak tennis player, who has career-high WTA ranking of No 111 in singles, achieved on May 8, 2017. On the ITF Women’s Circuit, she has won twelve singles titles and four doubles titles. Rebecca Sramkova won her biggest title to date at the 2016 Open de Biarritz, a $100,000 tournament.
Rebecca Sramkova was born on October 19, 1996, in Bratislava, Slovakia. She started playing tennis at an early age. As a kid she won the title at the 2008 Small Lobik, 2010 Tejt Prievidza Cup U16, and was the runner-up at the 2010 Opalenica Cup. On the ITF Junior Circuit, Rebecca Sramkova achieved her highest ranking of 200. She did not win any titles in singles but won one title in doubles. She reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 Junior French Open / Roland Garros
Rebecca Sramkova made her professional ITF debut in 2012 at the $10,000 Velenje (Slovenia). She reached the second round but showed character and talent. During the season, she played at the $10,000 Warsaw (Poland), $10,000 W25 Vienna (Austria), $10,000 Solin (Croatia), $15,000 Vendryne (Czech Republic), and $10,000 Antalya (Turkey).
In 2013, Rebecca Sramkova won her first ITF title at the $10,000 W15 Vrnjacka Banja (Serbia). She played also at the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Budapest (Hungary) and the quarter-finals of the $25,000 Zawada (Poland) and $10,000 W25 Vienna (Austria).
Rebecca Sramkova won her second ITF title in 2014 at the $15,000 Leipzig (Germany) and reached the quarter-finals of the $25,000 Kreuzlingen (Switzerland). She played also at the Junior Grand Slam’s French Open / Roland Garros, reaching the quarter-finals.
In 2015, Rebecca Sramkova played on the semi-finals of the $50,000 Kreuzlingen (Switzerland).
In 2016, she won her most prestigious title so far, winning $100,000 Biarritz (France). Rebecca Sramkova also won the title at the $25,000 W25 Rome (Italy) and $25,000 Karshi (Uzbekistan) but also was the runner-up at the $50,000 Ilkley (UK). She also played at the semi-finals of the $80,000 Prague (Czech Republic), $25,000 Landisville, PA (USA), $25,000 W25 Caserta (Italy), $100,000 W100 Trnava (Slovakia), $25,000 Bertioga (Brazil).
Rebecca Sramkova made her Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in 2017. She played in the main scheme of the tournament but lost in the first round. Later during the season she played at the WTA 250 Ladies Championship Gstaad, but again lost in the first round. She ended early the season already in July without recording some significant success.
In 2018, Rebecca Sramkova won another ITF title at the $15,000 W15 Antalya (Turkey). She also was the runner-up at the $25,000 W60+H Stare Splavy (Czech Republic) and $25,000 Torun (Poland), as well as the semi-finalist at the $60,000 W60+H Valencia (Spain).
Rebecca Sramkova won three more ITF titles in 2019, triumphing at the $60,000 W60 Andrezieux-Boutheon (France), $25,000 W25 Grado (Italy) and $60,000 W60+H Torun (Poland). She also reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious $60,000 W60 Szekesfehervar (Hungary) and $60,000 W60+H Valencia (Spain).
The short 2020 season, hampered the impetus of the Slovakian tennis player. During the season she played the final of the $25,000 W25 Rancho Santa Fe, CA (USA) and reached the second round of the WTA 125 Prague Open.
Rebecca Sramkova tried to return on the winning lane in 2021. She reached the semi-finals of the WTA 125 Belgrade Ladies Open, which was her biggest achievement at such a ranked tournament.
In 2022, she played in the main scheme of the French Open / Roland Garros, qualifying as the lucky loser. She played also at the. During the season she reached the semi-finals of the $60,000 W60 Ceska Lipa (Czech Republic) and $25,000 W25 Otocec (Slovenia).
Rebecca Sramkova made a wonderful season in 2023, winning the titles at the $25,000 W25 Bath (UK) and $40,000 W40 Otocec (Slovenia). She also reached the semi-finals of the WTA 125 Makarska Open and the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Poland Open. She played also at the main scheme of the WTA 250 Hungarian Grand Prix and WTA 125 Grand Est Open 88.
