Barbora Palicova was born on March 11, 2004, in the Czech Republic. She started in tennis at an early age and proved her talent, winning the local Maistra Cup, Jablonec Cup, and Suez Cup Tennis Europe in 2017. In 2018, during her junior career, she was the runner-up at the J30 Slovenska Lupca \ Pepas Cup U18 and J4 Zagreb \ Junior Zagreb Cup but also reached the semi-finals of the J4 Maribor \ Maribor Open, J60 Zilina \ ITF Zilina Junior Open, as well as the quarter-finals of the European Junior Championships U14. During the next years, she continues playing strongly on the junior tour, becoming one of the most prominent Czech tennis players.
Barbora Palicova made her professional debut in 2020, playing at the WTA 125 Prague Open, playing in the main scheme after passing through the qualifications. During the season she also played at the $25,000 W25 Prerov (Czech Republic), but again lost in the first round.
In 2021, Barbora Palicova started the season playing at the $15,000 W15 Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), reaching the quarter-finals, and $15,000 W15 Cairo (Egypt), reaching the semi-finals. In the mid-season she played mostly in the Junior tour, winning the title of the J200 Gladbeck \ Van Der Valk Hotel Gladbeck Junior Cup (Germany), reaching the final of the J300 Charleroi-Marcinelle \ Astrid Bowl Charleroi Belgain International Championships (Belgium) and the semi-finals of the J300 Vrsar \ Perin Memorial (Croatia). Barbora Palicova also played at the Junior Grand Slam tournaments Wimbledon and the French Open / Roland Garros. In the end of the season, she reached the quarter-finals of the $25,000 W25 Milovice (Czech Republic).
Barbora Palicova started the 2022 season, playing her first final at the $15,000 W15 Antalya (Turkey) and in the next week, won the title at the same tournament. In February, she played another final at the $25,000 W25 Glasgow (UK). During the summer, she reached the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Annenheim (Austria) and $25,000 W25 Klosters (Switzerland). In July, Barbora Palicova made her WTA 250 debut, playing at the Prague Open, losing in the first round. By the end of the season, she won her second ITF title at the $60,000 W60 Prerov (Czech Republic) and also played in the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25+H Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (France) and $60,000 W60 Bratislava (Slovakia).
In 2023, Barbora Palicova targeted higher-ranked ITF tournaments, but her performance was hesitant and her biggest achievement was the quarter-finals of the $60,000 W60 Trnava (Slovakia) and $60,000 W60 Bellinzona (Switzerland). She also played in the main scheme of the WTA 125 Grand Est Open 88 and WTA 125 BCR Iasi Open but lost in the first rounds of both tournaments.
